The Foundation for Tomorrow’s Schools (FTS) completed the rebuilding a new sports ground at Maria Reġina College Secondary School at Mosta (known as Iż-Żokrija).
This project included replacement of the surface of the sports ground with synthetic turf, as well as the rebuilding of the underground car park beneath the ground. This project was carried out with an investment of €350,000. This is part of a larger investment in excess of One Million Euro spread over twenty schools.
These projects are being carried out against the background of national policies to address childhood obesity, as well as to further foster a sports culture in children that leads to a better quality of life in schools.
The project was inaugurated by the Minister for Education, Sport, Youth, Research and Innovation, the Hon. Dr. Clifton Grima when he visited the Żokrija project, in the presence of the Chairperson of the FTS, Dr. Cory Greenland, the Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Neville Young, the Principal of Maria Reġina College, Mr. Patrick Decelis, and the Head of School, Mr. Michael Vassallo.
