The newly refurbished Primary School at Rabat, Malta, opened its doors to pupils at the start of the new scholastic year in September 2023.
Previously, the Rabat Primary School was located in two separate buildings in the same locality. Through this project, the school was united in one building.
The new school has 33 classrooms, including classrooms for specific subjects such as art, music and Personal, Social and Career Development (PSCD). Ten classrooms are for kindergarten level. The school also has an indoor gym, outdoor recreation spaces, a multi-sensory room, an industrial kitchen, and a dining area for pupils that attend the ‘Breakfast Club’.
As part of the project we’ve installed new services, including new electricity, water and sewage services, security cameras, internet connectivity, alarms, and fire safety services. The school has new furniture aimed at encouraging teaching and learning inclusion. In the building we’ve also introduced energy efficient measures as required by law.
The new school has a capacity of approximately 400 children.
This project was carried out with a capital investment of approximately €3,500,000.
