The Minister for Education and Sport, Byron Camilleri, and the Minister for Gozo, Clint Camilleri, recently visited the progress of works at Ta’ Kerċem Primary School.
This project involves the extensive refurbishment of the existing primary school with an investment of approximately €3.2 million. It includes the redesign of the open and recreational spaces, as well as the creation of a new space for the teaching of extra-curricular subjects, the installation of a new lift, and new sports facilities. The school will be fully air-conditioned.
The newly refurbished school will re-open its doors to students at the beginning of the new scholastic year in September 2026.
Minister Byron Camilleri stated that the project at Ta’ Kerċem is part of the effort to ensure that the renewal of educational infrastructure leads to a tangible improvement in the daily experience of students and educators.
Minister Clint Camilleri said that the investment at Ta’ Kerċem Primary School will have a direct positive impact on the children, families, and the local community.
The Ministers were accompanied by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry for Education and Sport, Matthew Vella, and the FTS leadership together with the professionals working on the project.
