Following the launch of Malta Vision 2050 by the Government in February 2026, the Foundation for Tomorrow’s Schools (FTS) affirms that its ongoing and planned initiatives are fully aligned with this ambitious national strategy.
Malta Vision 2050 sets out a long-term framework to guide the country’s development over the next 25 years, with a strong focus on sustainable growth, improved quality of life, and enhanced national resilience. Built around six flagship pillars and supported by measurable targets for 2035, the Vision – under the theme “Shine Here” – addresses key economic, digital, social, environmental, and infrastructure priorities.
A central component of the strategy is the pillar “Future-Ready Education and Skills”, which highlights the importance of equipping Malta’s education system to meet future demands. In particular, Pledge 66 emphasises the need for strategic investment in resilient and sustainable educational infrastructure, ensuring safe, modern, and inclusive environments for both students and educators.
FTS is already playing a pivotal role in advancing these objectives. Through its extensive programme of works, the Foundation is delivering projects that support increased capacity, the integration of digital technologies, and the adoption of sustainable building standards across educational facilities.
With an ambitious investment programme approaching €100 million, FTS is actively contributing to the development of a future-ready educational ecosystem in Malta. Its work on the ground reflects a strong commitment to the principles outlined in Vision 2050, reinforcing the Government’s drive towards high-quality, inclusive, and sustainable education infrastructure.
