The new Victoria Primary School opened its doors to pupils at the start of the new scholastic year in September 2024.
This major project involved the building of a new primary school at Victoria, Gozo, which replaced the old school, and which was around 160 years old.
The new school is located in the existing educational campus at Victoria. The Victoria campus is the only one of its kind in our country as it includes a childcare centre, a kindergarten, a primary school, a middle school, a secondary school, as well as a Sixth Form.
The new primary school has 16 classrooms for primary education and 10 classrooms for kindergarten. The school also has classrooms for specific subjects, including for science, information technology, and arts. The primary school and the kindergarten together are able to take about 650 children.
In the new school building, we also constructed a new childcare centre, which is the first state-owned childcare centre in Gozo.
The size of the new school is around 8,000 square meters, with 3,000 of them for sports and recreational facilities.
As part of this project, FTS refurbished the Gozo College Middle School which is adjacent to the Primary School. This project was carried out with an investment of €18,000,000.
